A figure walking out of a dark stone underpass into the daylight

About

Built like a uniform

VAART makes menswear essentials in a monochrome palette, for men who move through the city all day and would rather not think about what to wear.

The name

Vaart is Dutch for a waterway, a canal. It also means speed, momentum: vaart maken is to pick up pace. We took the second meaning and turned it into clothes.

The idea is simple. A short list of pieces in five tones (black, charcoal, stone, sand, off-white), cut clean so that every top works with every pair of trousers. You decide once in the morning, and the day is yours.

We would rather show you less and tell you more: the fit of each piece, its fabric, the measurements behind every size, the real stock of every size, and prices with VAT included.

Three rules

What we hold to

01

Fewer, better

Essentials instead of a new trend every week. Each piece is meant to be worn on repeat, and to go with the rest.

02

Five tones

Black, charcoal, stone, sand and off-white. Pick any two and they work together, from the office to the evening.

03

Straight answers

Fit and fabric stated plainly, a size guide in centimetres, real stock, no fake countdowns and no invented reviews.
